Katie Blanco Bourdeau, J.D., CFRE is the Chief Development Officer, Secretariat for Stewardship & Development, and the President of the Archdiocese of Miami Development Corporation for the Archdiocese of Miami. Katie’s responsibilities, across the three-county archdiocese, serving more than 1.2 million people, include all phases of development, fundraising, stewardship programs, major gifts, planned giving, community relations and external affairs.
As the Chief Development Officer, Secretariat for Stewardship & Development and the President of the Archdiocese of Miami Development Corporation, she oversees all phases of development, fundraising, stewardship, major gifts, planned giving, community relations and external affairs in the three-county archdiocese. Working directly with the Archbishop and the executive leadership at the Archdiocese, she is responsible for:
- Overseeing the Catholic Community Foundation which manages the endowment for the Archdiocese;
- Managing the Archbishop’s Charities and Development Drive (ABCD), the annual campaign;
- Major gift fundraising for the Archbishop’s priorities;
- Managing the external relations and community presence of the Archbishop;
- Serving as a consultant to 107 parishes, 65 schools and archdiocesan entities in their development efforts; and more.
Through strategic and innovative approaches, she has increased the annual campaign from $7 million to over $12 million, raises more than $20 million in special projects annually, and under her leadership, has grown the endowment from $112 million to more than $190 million. Moreover, she has elevated the presence of the Archdiocese and the Archbishop in the community and hosts more than 30 events each year that raise significant revenues and visibility for the Church. Under her leadership, she has brought the cost of fundraising down to an unprecedented $.034 for every dollar raised which is far below industry standards.
In addition to her role at the Archdiocese, Katie also serves as the Board Chair for L.I.V.E.: Lead, Innovate, Volunteer & Empower, a local nonprofit whose mission is to improve the quality of life of others. She also active with several other nonprofit organizations in our community through board positions, host committees and financial support. She received her Juris Doctorate from Nova Southeastern University’s Shepard Broad Law Center and her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Miami.
Katie and her husband, Matt, live in Miami. She has two beautiful children, Olivia (9) and Kellen (6), who attend St. Louis Covenant School.
